Leveraging her background as an executive, strategist, and communications specialist;  Laurelle F. Johnson prepares startup entrepreneurs to seek funds from venture capitalists, angel investors, and crowd funding campaigns. Her focus is on perfecting the startup’s marketing to prospective investors and getting the owners ready for conversations with investors. In addition, Laurelle has participated in building the infrastructure for these newly funded companies.  Moderating several panels on Venture Capital and Crowd Funding has put her in demand with  groups and organizations.

Emily Sipchen is a Co-Founder of ShowKit, a startup company in West Hollywood. ShowKit powers interactive, visual communication inside any mobile app as a customer support and engagement tool for Enterprise companies. With more than five years' experience in strategy, data analysis and marketing, Emily spearheads these efforts at ShowKit, emphasizing analytics and lean methodology. Emily previously hired, trained and managed a team to test new media marketing strategies with TigerLead Solutions (acquired by Move Inc.), and most recently ran business development and product development with Curious Minds. Emily earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and her Bachelor's Degree from Middlebury College.

As managing partner at accounting firm, gish SEIDEN LLP, Maureen O’Gara-Adford focuses on providing out-of-the box advice to medium-size and small businesses in the areas of tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, strategic and succession planning, operational efficiencies, and profitability.  She has been a trusted advisor to her clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, restaurants, retail, e-commerce, and real estate.  Maureen is also a frequent guest speaker at Cal Poly Pomona’s Restaurant Management course and is a recipient of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s Trusted Advisor Award. 




Emily Yukich

Partner, Fox Rothschild LLP


Emily counsels small to mid-sized businesses in the consumer products, clean tech, solar power, manufacturing and professional services industries on a variety of complex transactional matters. She handles business formation, planning and restructuring and works with startups on strategy and early-stage funding as well as with existing companies on growth and acquisition financing. Emily also handles mergers, acquisitions and other general commercial transactions and provides advice on corporate governance matters. She serves as outside general counsel to a number of clients, advising on day-to-day legal matters and assisting with contract negotiation, leasing and brand protection. Additionally, Emily advises private equity and venture capital investors on due diligence, negotiation of investment documents and other matters.
