Ryan Patel

Ryan currently serves as the Director of Global Real Estate & Business Development for Pinkberry, one of the fastest growing retail brands globally. Since commencing at Pinkberry in 2011, the company has expended to over 250 stores in 20 countries and IS continuing to grow. Prior to Pinkberry, Ryan worked with Wet Seal Retail, Inc (Arden B and West Seal), Jamba Juice, BJ’s Restaurants, Inc and Panda Express. Ryan is well known in the community for his publications on global expansion,  guest lecturing on various global topics at schools such as OXFORD University, Wharton Business  School and USC, and speaking at conferences in Latin America and Europe. Robert K. Whyte

Robert Whyte  is a
former Wall Street investment banker turned entrepreneur, currently the founder & CEO at Good Time Beverages. EB5USADirect was founded from the financing of Good Time Beverages as a Direct EB5 Investment; some $2 million was raised through EB5USADirect.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Robert was a partner in the Media and Broadcast Group of RBC Daniels and Associates based in New York City. Earlier, Mr. Whyte was one of the founding partners of Home Shopping Network and led the company as its CEO through its IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the US Company on the American Stock Exchange.

Host:  Victoria Silchenko, Ph.D.
Victoria SITS on the LAVA board and is the Chair of Global LAVA.  She is the founder & CEO of Metropole Capital Group and creator of the annual NextGen Entrepreneurship and Global Crowdfunding Forum. Victoria is an adjunct lecturer at CLU teaching a course on Entrepreneurial Finance (MBA); she is also a contributing writer for the Huffington Post  and Los Angeles Business Journal. In 2013 she was nominated by the Los Angeles Business Journal FOR  the Women Making A Difference Awards. Formerly, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher directly with Dr. Arthur Laffer (former economic advisor to President Reagan) and later held an analytical position at the Milken InstituteMore on 




Global LAVA holds monthly breakfast meetings on the first Friday each month from 7:30am to 9:00am. These meetings focus on addressing specific topics related to the international marketplace and are highly interactive so everyone can share their concerns & opportunities among the participants. Each themed meeting involves several guest speakers with a track record of a notable success and expertise in that area to present a short speech and then answer questions from the participants.
