Our expertise includes software development (mobile, web, embedded), strategic consulting (turn-around, product development, market research), and fund-raising.

Jeff Scheinrock is also a Continuing Lecturer at UCLA Anderson School of Management and Director of their Business Creation Option program, guiding students through a thesis project to create a new company.



Matthew PierceMatthew Pierce

Founder and CEO of O Labs


Matthew Pierce is the founder and CEO of O Labs, a joint venture between Originate Inc and Manatt Phelps and Phillips. O Labs is an incubator that develops three to five companies per year, creating solutions for corporate partners and providing early stage companies with their first customers. Prior to founding O Labs, Mr. Pierce was VP of Strategy at Originate; he has also worked with the Boston Consulting Group, Warner Bros., and he was a co-founder of Rosum Corporation which was sold to TruePosition.  Matthew Pierce is a graduate of Stanford University and he earned his MBA at UCLA Anderson.

Cauri Jaye is a product-focused technologist and business transformation expert, specialising in the use of emergent architecture and agile management to promote development, innovation and efficiency within start-ups, SMBs and enterprise teams. He has over 20 years of experience across multiple sectors including film and media and brand development - As a Product Owner at Sony Pictures Entertainment; as SVP Product at Added Value; and as Head of Production at Possible Worldwide. As well as running rhubarb studios, cauri is the instructor fellow for UX and product management at General Assembly.

Ryan AzleinRyan Azlein

Ryan Azlein is a Partner with the Firm, and serves as Director of the Firm’s Preccelerator Program.

Ryan advises a wide range of both private and public clients, focusing on emerging growth, development stage and middle-market companies as well as the venture capital firms, angel investors and strategic investors that invest in these types of companies.

Ryan’s practice concentrates on venture capital and corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, equity and executive compensation matters, intellectual property development and licensing arrangements, SEC reporting and disclosure, public and private securities offerings, complex partnering arrangements, and general corporate matters.

Ryan is actively involved in the Southern California emerging company and venture capital community.  In addition to managing the Preccelerator Program, Ryan regularly lectures to entrepreneurs, peer groups and students on various topics, including venture capital financing and issues faced by emerging growth companies.

Ryan received his B.A., with Honors, from the University of San Diego in 1996 and his J.D. in 1999 from the Berkeley Law, University of California at Berkeley.  Ryan is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
