SoCal Performance Edge is a US Department of Energy funded initiative, led by the LA Better Buildings Challenge and LACI, to accelerate smart investments in next-generation building technologies, leveraging DOE research to identify market-ready, best-in-class solutions and match them with property owners committed to innovation. Technologies promoted through So Cal Performance Edge program meet the Department Of Energy’s performance specifications, and have been vetted by third party experts.  Program technologies are thoroughly tested by National Labs to prove their effectiveness and third party experts will help measure & verify the performance of the pilot to better deliver scaled implementation.

The La Kretz Innovation Campus is Los Angeles’ new cleantech industry hub - a place where entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists and policymakers can collaborate, promote and support the development of clean technologies and LA’s green economy. A fully renovated 60,000 square foot building located at 5th and Hewitt Streets in the dynamic Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.  The Campus features offices, conference rooms, R&D labs, prototype manufacturing workshop, training center, and event space, in addition to LADWP laboratories for both Customer Engagement and Energy Efficiency and Technology. The Campus offers surface parking with a 175 kilowatt photovoltaic solar canopy, greywater filtration, bioswale, and microgrid systems.

The program will include a tour and presentation of the new facility, a presentation about SoCal Performance Edge, and presentations by several of LACI's portfolio companies focused on the built environment and representing technologies deployed to meet to the DOE's initiative.
