Expansion into international markets is a serious matter for Southern Californian companies with ambitions of rapid growth. Since the world has become interconnected, medium-sized businesses and even small companies can operate in the global marketplace – an opportunity that was previously only conceivable for large companies with large budgets and dedicated resources. At the same time, there is a clear shift in the global investment community as we see rising interest from international VCs and PE groups seeking to back promising young companies in the States to diversify their risks.

Mission: Global LAVA is a strategic entry point for entrepreneurs, capital providers and executives interested in leveraging the global marketplace’s opportunities and capital sources for companies based in Southern California. The basic objective of our meetings is to expose the participants to the opportunities and challenges that are presented by the global markets, while encouraging everyone to share information, knowledge and experience to help each other to develop new capacities for their businesses.

Constituencies: entrepreneurs looking for the global expansion, foreign companies looking for the strategic partners, angel investors and VCs  with the focus on the international markets, government officials, media, non-profits and anyone with a global mind-set and desire to make a difference.

Meetings: Global LAVA holds monthly breakfast meetings on the first Friday each month from 7:30am to 9:00am in the heart of the Century City area. These meetings focus on addressing specific topics related to the international marketplace and are highly interactive and dynamic so everyone can share their questions and insights and participate in the discussions. Each themed meeting involves several guest speakers with a track record of a notable success and expertise in that area to present a brief statement and then answer questions from the moderator and an audience. Networking is highly encouraged and anticipated.

Fees: These meetings are free to LAVA members and LAVA sponsors. Participating guests are charged a $35 fee. Refreshments are served. Seating is limited. No payments at the door please.
