Stephen Hughes is a Senior Relationship Manager for Silicon Valley Bank based in Los Angeles. Mr. Hughes leads SVB Financial Group' Early Stage team in the region. Prior to joining SVB, Mr. Hughes served as Founder and CFO of a venture-backed software company (How2TV) and Head of Royal Bank of Canada's US Technology Banking Group. He earned both his MBA and an Honors BA in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School in Canada.

Scott Alderton Partner Stubbs Alderton, & Markiles LLP
Scott Alderton is a founder and partner of the Firm. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1982 and his J.D., cum laude, in 1985 from Loyola Law School. He has served as an adjunct professor of securities law at Loyola Law School and is a member of the Business Law and Intellectual Property Sections of the American Bar Association. Scott is a member of the California Bar.

Sumant joined Clearstone Venture Partners in 2000. He spends his time and energy helping visionary entrepreneurs build companies around large markets from the ground up. He represents Clearstone on the boards of The Rubicon Project, DiVitas Networks, Geodelic (observer), Billdesk (India), Games2win (India), Apture and ThisNext. Some of the past investments where he worked closely with the founding teams and helped incubate the ideas are Kazeon Systems (sold to EMC), Mimosa Systems (sold to Iron Mountain) and Ankeena Networks (sold to Juniper Networks). Sumant initiated and is responsible for Clearstone's investment activities in India.
Prior to Clearstone, Sumant spent more than eight years as an entrepreneur involved in starting companies both in India and the United States. He has been part of creating companies in the online media world, infrastructure technologies and clean energy.
Sumant has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. He is a Charter Member of TiE.

Kevin Jacques Partner Palomar Ventures
Kevin joined Palomar in 2006, bringing a balanced mix of investing, emerging company, and strategy development experience. Prior to joining Palomar, Kevin was the CEO of GlobeRanger, a leading RFID middleware startup based in Texas. Before GlobeRanger, Kevin spent nearly 6 years as a partner with Sevin Rosen Funds, where he led investments and worked closely with 10 portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, Kevin was involved in corporate development at Beyond.com, an early eCommerce company, and was a project manager with The Boston Consulting Group. Kevin has an MBA from the Wharton School and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Jim Andelman General Partner Rincon Venture Partners
Jim is a co-founder and General Partner of Rincon Venture Partners. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving the fund’s investment activities, as well as the firm’s operations. Jim has more than fifteen years of experience in venture capital investing, technology investment banking and advisory services and strategic business consulting.
Previously, Jim led software investing at Broadview Capital Partners, a $250 million expansion-stage venture capital firm. Jim was responsible for developing investment themes, sourcing investment opportunities, performing company assessments, negotiating and executing transactions, and advising portfolio companies. Jim led the assessment of over 300 investment opportunities, participated in the deployment of $78 million across five portfolio companies, four of which exited via acquisition despite a challenging macroeconomic environment.
Before BCP, Jim was a member of the Technology Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. There, he concentrated on equity private placements, mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings across a variety of sectors including software, IT services, computing equipment, networking equipment, imaging, semiconductors, semi capital equipment and storage.
Jim began his career with Symmetrix, a boutique management consulting firm founded by a Bain & Co. founder, which helped to create strategic advantage through the application of technology. At Symmetrix, Jim specialized in strategy formulation and economic modeling.
Jim received his MBA with highest distinction (first in his class) from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and his BS in Economics (magna cum laude) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jim serves on the Boards of Directors of Brickfish, Burstly, Campus Explorer, Digital Performance and Iconix Video, and has Board oversight responsibility for Soliant Energy. He previously served on the Boards of Cadforce (acquired by Neilsoft) and Packet Island (acquired by BroadSoft). In addition, he serves on the
Boards of Directors of Friends of Yosemite Search and Rescue and the Los Angeles Venture Association, on the Advisory Board of the Douglas Family Preserve.

Mark Suster Partner, Los Angeles GRP Partners
Mark joined GRP Partners in 2007 after having worked with GRP for nearly 8 years as a two-time entrepreneur. Most recently Mark was Vice President, Product Management at Salesforce.com (NASDAQ: CRM) following its acquisition of Koral,where Mark was Founder and CEO. Prior to Koral, Mark was Founder and CEO of BuildOnline, the largest independent global content collaboration company focused on the engineering and construction sectors, which was acquired by SWORD Group (PARIS: SWP). Earlier in his career, Mark spent nearly ten years working for Accenture in Europe, Japan and the U.S.
Mark received a BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He grew up in the U.S. and is also a citizen of the UK.

Klaus Koch Managing Partner Vicente Capital Partners
Klaus Koch is a Managing Partner of Vicente Capital Partners. He has been a senior investment professional in three such partnerships over the past decade.
Klaus began his career with the LEK Partnership where he focused on strategic M&A projects and privatization support for the German government. Klaus later went on to work with Goldman Sachs in Mergers and Acquisitions. He has worked on numerous M&A transactions in areas such as medical devices, satellite equipment and services, paper products and car rental services.
In 1996, Klaus joined Bain & Co. in their LBO, Technology and Healthcare practices. During this time, Klaus advised such firms as Apollo Advisors, McCown De Leeuw, TRW and SGI.
Klaus has led several successful investments to exit including Rent.com (acquired by eBay), O2 Science (acquired by Pacific Pulmonary Services), Sensor Systems, Alta Healthcare System, Newbridge College, LivHOME and Transoft Networks (acquired by Hewlett-Packard). Currently, Klaus is Chairman of the Board of Sendio and MedBridge Healthcare.
Klaus Koch is an active participant in the Southern California venture community. He is a board member of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and a frequent speaker on the subject of private equity. He received his Master’s degree from Harvard Business School with distinction and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School summa cum laude.
