Space tourism is soaring. The trend leads to innovative ways for consumers to have fun and companies to profit both on Earth and off World.
Passing from phase one--flights to the International Space Station (ISS)--the space tourism industry in recent years has launched its next generation with private enterprise offerings.
The global space industry is expected to generate revenue of $1.1 trillion or more in 2040. Analysts say that by 2030 outer space travel will represent an annual market of at least $20 billion. By 2025 the space tourism market will register a 16.6% CAGR.
And there’s myriad new ways to profit from the Consumer Space Experience Economy.
More broadly, the earth-based consumer space experience is worth billions in space and future-themed theme parks, attractions, resorts and shows. Experiential and immersive digital media technology like SpaceVR offer enjoyable space experiences on earth, which not only have practical applications, but are transformative. And now Space Hero has created an unscripted reality competition show--produced by Ben Silverman and Howard Owen’s Propagate--whose winner will receive a trip to the ISS.
